        The EU required that WA not connect its DB with FB for EU users.

          Also yes, completely different law but user data has to be secure for eu users. Some even within the country

    We could still be communicating cooperatively in a lightweight, decentralized manner had WhatsApp federated with & Facebook reverted unfederating with XMPP. 😥
