So much hype about the AI Pin and how it was going to revolutionize how we use computers. Several bad reviews and they hype dried up like the Aral Sea – and poof, now it’s gone.
If your devices rely on a service that you do not control to work - then accept the fact that one day, suddenly, they will not work.
Typical “IoT”… the S, F, and G stand for Security, Freedom, and Guarantee.
After the shutdown, offline features like “battery level” will still work
How nice of them 😆
This is what I expect of happening of the whole AI industry.similar to what happened to BigData or Web3.
Wasn’t the Aral sea intentionally drained?
not intentionally I thin, more like reckless disregard
AI compute credits will be tied to printer ink, so if you run out of either one you need to buy more of both.
If you’re still using an ink printer in anno Domini 2025, I don’t know what to tell you.
Jokes on them I won’t purchase either.
Lmao what is HP going to get out of it? Waste of money
Bloomberg reports that “Humane’s team, including founders Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, will form a new division at HP to help integrate artificial intelligence into the company’s personal computers, printers and connected conference rooms,” per an HP executive.
congrats to HP on the launch of their new “you thought inkjet printers were shitty now? hold my aquifer and watch this” division.
but also:
HP is buying Humane’s CosmOS, bringing on Humane technical staff, and will get more than 300 patents and patent applications, Humane says in its press release.
this is a relatively cheap way for HP to set itself up as an AI patent troll and extract rent from other companies that are trying to do AI-related bullshit. (from 2017: Stupid Patent of the Month: HP Patents Reminder Messages)
Customer data
I mean, remove AI from it and it’s not really a bad idea, imho. It’s just a different kind of “screen,” don’t overhype it.
