I just played the main campaign ending, the secret version, for the first time. On the PS5, too, and holy fuck could I not explain in proper English how terrible the game lagged throughout. From the initial entry, to the Adam Smasher fight, the lag and stuttering was terrible. I even changed from one of the reflection options to performance and it was still terrible. It easily doubled or tripled the time it should have taken and took away from the experience… and I still need to play the DLC!! Buh. This is all a tangent*, but holy fuck did someone mess up the latest update somehow. The PS5 was supposed to be more than capable of handling whatever the game could throw at it.

Edit: rebooted as suggested, ran perfectly the second time around.

That’s really weird. I’ve got ~300 hours logged on my PS5 and haven’t had any significant issues like that. Occasionally I’ll get some frame drops if I’ve got a build that’s very spammy with abilities that produce particle effects (going apeshit with mantis blades in Dogtown tends to be pretty taxing on the system), or if I leave the game running for way too long. But relaunching the game generally fixes that.

Otherwise, I’ve had a pretty consistent 60 FPS experience in Performance Mode all the way throughout.

I’ve played the Ps5 version when it came out (around 1.60 I think) and it played pretty well except for the draw distance. But that’s a problem you get with every open world game…

You would think it would be a thing of the past with the powerful machines we now have, but I guess we’re too hungry for crazy graphics for these machines to keep up.
