    Aside from the fact that the best drivers are closed source, NVIDIA is killing it on Linux these days.

      I’ve not tried myself but whenever I see anyone complaining about issues here the responses are generally “ah that’s what you get with nvidia”

      If distros would ship pre-compiled, signed kernel modules that work with secure boot with no extra configuration, that would be just perfect.

        No, that should absolutely be discouraged. Nvidia should quit trying to fuck with users’ rights and release proper Free Software drivers.

          It sounds to me like a loose-loose situation. It does have the effect of applying pressure on Nvidia, but it also makes Linux desktop more complicated than it needs to be which has a real cost for users.

          It’s a shame.
