Phhht amateur numbers. I have worked maybe a year in the last 25yrs and only because it was a cool job and I had some fun times. But it left me not much time for my hobbies.

Also smokers would pay any price for their fix, no matter the income. Anything else has to be adjusted around that. I have never heard of someone quitting smoking because they can’t afford it anymore.

Allow me to introduce myself ;)

I quit smoking 9 years ago, because it was getting too expensive. Which definitely made it harder for me to quit, because I didn’t stop because I wanted to. Back then prices for the brand I bought were “only” at 4.69 euro / 5.48 usd, but I knew it was only going to get worse from there. Now they’re at 8.04 eur / 9.40 usd, and I’m so happy I quit, but even more so because of my health, which I didn’t care about back then.

EDIT: Just checked, and it was actually 9 years ago, not 8.

OK congrats to you! And yeah, can imagine that being extra hard, “just” for the money. But despite you doing it, I’d still bet my left nut on you being a rare exception. People won’t even stop to not die, what difference would money make.

But glad you did. I did like 20yrs ago (it’s cool if you don’t even remember anymore). And it was weeks of hell…

I’m just a lucky fucker that doesn’t need overly much to exist. Beside an expensive hobby (smarthome and gaming and servers) I don’t need fancy houses, cars or clothes. We don’t travel much and have no kids nor pets. The latter save a lot 😁
