Dunno about you, but godsamn i feel sooooo much better about how (young) i look compared to these guys…that being said Archie Bunkers easy chair is my spirit animal.
My problem is I’m not sure if I’ll look like Redd Fox in two years and just convince myself I look younger or will actually look younger.
you should gather pictures of today people in the same range
speaking personally, i think today “middle aged” people have more “younger outlook” than the same age ranges decades ago
Indeed. People looked much older in their actual age in the 1950s to 1980s than today. Don’t know why though.
gravity is way much worse back then
now, people live in the cloud

Will you vacate that chair Meathead?
Ee-dit!
Hydration and sun protection. Also don’t smoke and limit the alcohol.
It’s a little late for most of that (other than smoking, I quit in 2000).
Never too late to start/change into healthy habits!
Can still make you feel better? I used to drink around six pints a night :/ whittled it down to like 3 pints a week max after COVID.
I don’t actually drink much anymore and I do hydrate and stay out of the sun. I was being facetious. Badly, apparently.
Jesus, all that smoking and drinking whiskey at 12 really ages you
who are these people
Ok, I’ll be nice. From left to right at the top, then left to right at the bottom.
Top: Redd Foxx as Fred Sanford in Sanford and Son, Caroll O’Connor as Archie Bunker in All in the Family, Wilford Brimley as whatever the hell his character’s name was in Cocoon, Norman Fell as Mr. Roper in Three’s Company
Bottom: Don’t know her name as Flo from Alice, Ann B. Davis as Alice from the Brady Bunch, Jean Stapleton as Edith Bunker in All in the Family, Rue McLanahan as Blanche in the Golden Girls.
Now go watch some reruns for heaven’s sake!
I think all of the Golden Girls were in their 50s at the time. Watching that growing up, I thought they were all supposed to be in their 70s.
The youngest one portrayed the oldest lady iirc
Ah, youth.
I’m 40 and I know their face, not their names. I put these people more in my parent’s generation.
How have you never watched Golden Girls? Go watch it right now!
Most of these are not exactly spectacular shows - they are just all that was available.
I mean the punch line to half the jokes were ‘Bang Zoom. I’m gonna beat the shit out of my wife’
Are you joking or have you clearly never watched these shows? With the exception of the Brady Bunch and Three’s Company they are amazing shows
Yeah, in Sanford and Son, half the jokes are “I miss my dead wife!” Far more wholesome!
But honestly, those shows weren’t made to be binged all in a row, they tended to have similar, familiar jokes from week to week. Even the best shows can be a little tiresome unless they’re spread out over a longer period of time.
I’m 30 and I’ve never seen these people. To be fair I’m not American
Just don’t grow up and you won’t have that problem.
Thanks, Peter.
Call me that from now on every time you see me on this website.
too bad we don’t have RES here to tag people
Sad
You could be a Lynda Carter.
May we all look that good in our 70s.
I totally act like Fred, not 1 fuck to give!
Blanche still looks good for 51.
46 years and all you can come up with is this meme?
