That’s a great idea. I wonder if it will make developers consider optimizing their games more.

It’s tough because corp people that I have worked with congrats with Starbucks gift cards. They ignore everything else. I just have to smile and say thanks, 😂

The majority of people at Starbucks didn’t drink plain coffee. Starbucks is a milkshake company.
Just wanted to say, sometimes it’s easier having two drives. If you have an extra slot I would do that. You could try vm too. I prefer KVM, but virtualbox is fine and easier.

There’s other games in town.
Like everyone else said, didn’t fix it, if not broken. Admins like distros like Debian and Arch(sorry) because you have more initial control of what’s on them. Why have a GUI, if you didn’t need it? Mix that with a little OCD and next thing you’re doing is recompiling the kernel. Fun stuff 😀

About 15 years ago I used to run my work desktop Windows in a VMware instance on Linux. We had Redhat and VMware licenses too use. I swear it ran faster than on bare metal for some reason. I used VMware’s virtual apps for Outlook and IE.
These days i just run what they hand me. No point getting on the bad side of the admins.

Huh, hopefully it does better than their mobile phones.

It sounds perfect for me. I didn’t want to pay for online gaming. I’m not into subscription services. I have a ton of games on Steam. I have been waiting for years for a good time to upgrade my gaming PC. Cheapest option was going to be $1,200. Pre built PC are garish and embarrassing looking. Windows is currently a dumpster fire. 6 times the power of a Stream Deck. Just want to play my games. Didn’t care about games that won’t play on it, there’s a always another game that will work.
Sold! (Please be $600 out less)

Another vote for Syncthing. Might be a little too complicated for some though

Why are people like this? If you didn’t like what a company is doing, didn’t use their products.

Totally giving to work 20 years from now

See, see, they like Linux now.

Good idea!

So wanted too

😂

That was $4.99 for the bunch

It’s good for business, get it?

At one of my jobs of scripting, I remember hearing about somebody using “eject” Linux command to make an adjacent computer reboot.
I install my OS and gui with system packages (minimal setup mostly) and everything else with flatpaks. It’s not perfect. There’s bloat and cleanup evolved, and some packages I didn’t trust. And sometimes you still need to build an app from source. But it fixed a bunch of issues you mentioned. It’s also nice to limit permissions on apps.
