It’s controlled by a government. A government that has trillions of dollars worth of real assets isn’t nearly as safe or secure as digital currency backed by the block chain. It has been scientifically proven that human imagination is infinite. Bitcoin going to the moon isn’t an assumption, it’s a fact.

… I’m pretty sure both Democrats and Republicans are fascists. The Democrats want to exploit and enslave weaker nations for the benefit of the “lower” class and the Republicans want the spoils of war to go to the middle class. Both funnel resources to the upper class, so in that regard they aren’t different.

I don’t really have an opinion about this one way or the other, but it’s two sides of the same coin. Despite their different rhetoric, they are ultimately one and the same. I’ve just accepted the fact that I am probably fascist. Honesty is necessary for change.

I didn’t use this post. It was a week ago I clicked on the link on the top screen that said “donate to Lemmy.”. I don’t know exactly who the picture was, but I could recognize it as a left-wing revolutionary. It was that Spanish dude with a beard…Chavez I think. The picture was on Patreon and I think Librapay.

I’m not necessarily against him or left wing revolutionaries, but it felt like something the mods on News would use. After I thought about, I realized that whoever set up this instance probably controls the popular left wing communities. I would if I set up a website.

I don’t know the history of the person in the picture, but it’s commonly used by extremists. If I see that profile picture on Reddit, it means I’m about to read a comment from someone who thinks Bernie Sanders is a far-right capitalist.

The addictiveness of a drug is actually a quantifiable metric. In the early 20th century, scientists exposed hundreds of drug naive individuals to different psychoactive compounds. Although there are individual differences, something like half of the people exposed to intravenous heroin and methamphetamine would actively seek out the next hit.

I was going to donate $5 per month, but I had second thoughts after seeing the profile picture on the donation site. I probably will still donate eventually, but I am not comfortable supporting an openly biased platform.

…I’m new. I’ll probably donate. I just need to make sure censoring people for different opinions isnt as common as it originally seemed. The fact that I was already banned from one of the most popular communities isn’t a good sign.

If those mods are the people that would receive the donations, then I don’t think they would use it for anything good…just a better funded echo chamber.

I think it’s important. Most of the people in AA aren’t religious, but the “program” wouldn’t survive if it lacked structure. People use the religious terminology, but most of them don’t believe it.

It makes sense. I live near the border, and I’ve worked at quite a few places that used Canadian imports to make finished American products. I’m glad I found a new job since them; God knows it my ex-boss found a new supplier of steel tubing. Every car part we manufactured was a product of Canada.

Personally, I don’t believe anyone has human rights. It is the wolves right to hunt the gazelle for food, and it’s the gazelle’s right to evade him. Although I am not against uplifting poorer countries, I feel like they would just become more wolves if they got their shit together.

Karma is just a means to exploit perceived peer pressure to reinforce desired behavior and change how people think. The desired behavior from the perspective of the platform isn’t limited to engagement. There are more subtle forms of monetization, such as propoganda and “peer”-to-peer advertising.
