Gay men are men too?
I could barely get Minecraft to run 20fps on this old laptop I had given to me a few years ago. Loaded Ubuntu on it and Minecraft ran near 60fps. Blew my mind.
Game runs like shit so I’m not buying it.
Used to see the odd “genetics” fat person and they’d just be built a bit bigger. Now I’m seeing fucking waddling planetoids and that’s not genetics man. Part of that blame belongs to individuals but part of it belongs to the food lobbyists and their quest to add sugar and corn syrup to everything.
Incentivise people to grow their own vegetables (or source them locally from those who already are) and disincentivise the purchase of processed and sweetened food. Have our agencies promote healthy recipes using weight rather than volume measurements and show people how to use scales to properly weigh ingredients and help make it as easy as possible to count calories.
Last time someone told me a game wasn’t for me I never bought any of their titles again. It has been years since that happened. I’m in it to win it on this one too. Eat shit Nintendo.
Between my wife and I we own damn near every Nintendo console, including every game boy, most of the DS/3DS versions, and even the Wii U. We bought two Switches because we both wanted to play BotW so badly at the same time lol.
This is where I draw the line. Palworld is an imperfect but fun game that I really enjoyed, and PocketPair deserves their success. It’s entirely on Nintendo/Game Freak for utterly failing to innovate that they now have such strong competition. They had more than enough money to try something new, get fucked.
Do you have children and have you had to use parental controls for some games? The controls largely suck so much and just end up being a source of endless frustration. They are not what I would call effective.
GOG and Itch are both great services. Epic is run by a psychopath and working hard to create the walled garden they themselves have been railing against. That’s why EGS can go to hell but I’ll gladly buy from the others.
I’m not buying or spending money in any more games with a killswitch
Is she familiar with Animal Crossing? If so check out Dinkum. Other suggestions: Terraria, Core Keeper, Minecraft, and there is always classic FPS games lol. I learned WSAD in Quake
Doesn’t Factorio have a mod that hosts a local server you can connect to with your browser and view the map? Or am I thinking about Minecraft?
Nintendo is the Apple of gaming. That’s not a compliment.
I backed the original Kickstarter in 2014. SQ42 has been “nearly ready” for years now. I’m not at all surprised SQ42 and Star Citizen are covered in suspicion and doubt, given how much time Roberts is willing to waste making sure people have to eat and drink and reworking ships and game mechanics, while getting sucked out of your ship when you warp and being unable to refuel/rearm remained problems for years. Hell I bet they still are.
The game was supposed to be something we could play on our own terms, not a wide open griefer fest like it is now.
I dunno I stopped waiting, I don’t care anymore.
lol but seriously this is the first time I’m not buying a Nintendo console on launch in a long time. Their prices here in Canada were already absurd but this gen is just unreal.
In this damn thread there is a lot of this.
Everybody in here buying Che shirts from Hot Topic.
With our HP laptops they would work perfectly so long as you only ever used them with one brand of dock. If you mixed dock brands without doing a full restart (like say having one brand at home, suspending, and then using another brand’s dock at the office) Wi-Fi, suspend, and several other features would no longer work or work intermittently. We had HP and Targus working on it, even their engineers were puzzled.
Problem was non-existent on Linux…
The difference is that if an upgrade breaks a Linux install (which is much rarer in my experience) I can often simply change the setting, revert the update, use a different distro/version, or even undo the change myself. Hell if it’s was kernel deep, nothing stops you from recompiling yourself, if the problem warrants it.
We can more easily run special Linux versions in a virtual machine without having to do a bunch of registry/gp magic and hope it sticks because Microsoft likes to force updates through your settings anyway.
There are more options for dealing with problems and they suck less.
You can’t be serious? People buy other file managers because the Windows one sucks so bad. I would know, I purchase our software.
We are doing a review of all of our software to prep for Windows 11 right now. It’s not going nearly as well as you think because not all software is consumer-grade.
Not too long ago a bunch of our scientific devices got knocked out by Microsoft fixing an old serial bug. Turns out all the software to run these was built to workaround the bug and quite a few of these items are long since unsupported (or the vendor is gone). Some of these are tens of thousands of dollars, we can’t just replace these on a whim.
Selection bias. The nature of Reddit and its past as a liberal free speech zone lends (lended?) itself to particular traits. Reddit’s average user is some combination of the following:
Altogether this does actually mean IQ probably trends a bit higher on average. That doesn’t mean shit for the quality of your arguments if you don’t critically examine your beliefs though, and anyone spouting American media talking points is not examining anything.
