It’s because making the world better requires change and conservatives are terrified of everything, especially change.

Go up to a conservative. Any conservative. And ask them to talk about politics. No other prompt. Just talk about politics. Don’t interrupt them for maybe 5 minutes. They’ll spend at least 95% of their time talking about fear, in some form or another. Conservatism is built upon, and maintained, by fear.

Had to do this once at my old apartment. Building next door had some kind of alarm that would beep for 10 minutes straight, stop, then do it again like an hour later. Over and over. Forever. Went on for months. Right outside my bedroom window.

After realizing no one else in either building was going to do something about it I taped a very large, very rude note on the front door of the building calling them out. It was gone within a couple days.

I’m still driving a '99 vehicle and the most advanced thing about it are the power windows. I dread upgrading to a vehicle that can break in so many new ways. I hate that everything has touch screens and the software on many is awful and if it breaks, surprise, you have no music in your car now.

My mom did this while I mowed the lawn. Pointed to leaves I missed. Even if they had fallen after I had already done that part of the lawn. Real piece of work.

They’re going to label nebulous entities like ANTIFA (when’s the last time you saw an ANTIFA gathering) as terrorist organizations. They’re going to end up openly calling for genocide. It’s going to happen.

So I implore everyone to arm themselves and form networks with likeminded people. You do not want to start doing this after it’s too late. If you need motivation, start reading up on 1930s Germany (the similarities are undeniable) and follow up with a list of WW2 atrocities. There’s definitely a WIKI page for it.
