That’s basically what happened to me. I still love pvp games, I just don’t have the time. It’s much more conducive to my lifestyle to play a game I can just pause at any moment and switch to something I need to do.

The funny thing is that most people in the Western worlds would say the same thing you are hear, while there are probably billions of people who see their problems and would say that they were be feeling pretty great right now if they had them.
We look at things like this as way “stupid kid with a narrow view” and don’t ask ourselves “man, how narrow is my own view and what an I missing about my own blessings?”
I can’t think of many things I care less about than fictional things being reworked. They’re fiction. “There has to be this truth to this fiction!” is something that will never keep me awake at night and is completely foreign to me. It’s like the same shit when people started whining that the ghost busters are girls, and that Ariel can’t be black. is it entertaining, is the only question I care about.
And don’t get me wrong, I get upset when I watch my sports teams so I’m not, by any stretch of the imagination, above getting upset over stupid shit. Lol
I have kids and sometimes it’s important thing from a doctor/school/whatever that I want to get.
However, I’m lucky that my cell phone area code is nowhere near where I live, so if I see an area code near my phones area code, I know it’s almost certainly spam. If I get a call from near where I live, its almost certainly legitimate.
Because we jumped to the conclusion that he is being arrested for providing privacy, and thus our internal biases make it difficult for us to quit that idea. Much easier to force the facts to fit the conclusion than it is to reevaluate the conclusion.
This is a much more honest answer, one that I also agree with.
“It’s expensive, but I still want everything, so I pirated it. Seems pretty justified.”
Look, I’ve pirated a ton in my life, but this whole “This is actually a noble pursuit” is such a load of fucking horse shit. We want something and don’t want to pay the price that is required to get it, so we take it. The best part is “preserving” it, because we all know that when this guy is done playing, it will be deleted and he’ll never think of it again.
This is the way I do it. Often I just divide by ten and multiply by two, but I’m a generous tipper, and it’s one less head math step.
The funny thing is that this basically how common core math works: get to the answer by doing as much easy math as possible.
NBA is coed. There is nothing in the rulebook banning women from the league.
There is no rule stopping women from joining the NBA. It’s just that no woman currently is able to compete at the highest level when men are included; the whole point of the WNBA is that, without it, there are no professional women in the sport.
In other words, it’s not the same job: one is an NBA player, the other a WNBA player. The WNBA exists precisely because women can’t do “the same job” but there is a market for watching women do the job. It’s just not as big as the market for people playing at the highest level of competition.
The reality is that if the market were bigger, they’d make more money. Help make the market bigger. Be the change you want to see in the world.
It feels too early. The idea is that you have to recognize your own cognitive and social biases that make us want to persist and objectively determine whether it makes sense to go on.
Quit: The Power of Knowing When to Walk Away
Definitely an interesting read ( or listen as I’ve done).
You know it’s funny how many times I’ve heard that “it’s just predictive text algorithms!” As a dismissal that I’m beginning to think we’re just predictive text algorithms.
I know this is just a joke, but I’m reading a book on quitting right now and one of the points she is driving home is that if you quit at the right time, it tends to feel too early to quit.
I’m glad I was able to be part of it then. Lol
“I use lube the masturbate”
“You should just use Linux instead. It’s better than anything else in the universe.” -sturlabragason, definitely
“omg americans are so stupid”
While falling for a painfully fake tweet.
For riz.
Am i doing it right?

Sure, and if you remove games like Fortnite, it would skew the numbers the other way. It strikes me as an arbitrary distinction.
But, I think what you point out is important, because based on the above replies it seems most people are interpreting this as their desire to play rpg games is what they are saying is more popular, when what is likely really happening is that there are just a lot of casual gamers playing CC type games.
