1 year agoI am aware of the scenario. Sync for Lemmy is not just relaunching into a fresh world here. The dev shouldn’t come in with unreasonable pricing. Not when we can use very nice apps such as Connect instead for free, and ad free.

Inflation is awful. Gas as gone up 18%. Food about 20%. But $8 to $26 is a percentage increase of 225%.

No, we’re paying to remove ads. And $26 CDN to remove ads feels really high when I paid $3.69 to remove ads in Boost and $4.49 to remove ads in Relay in 2019.
I like how you bothered to speak of supporting the dev yet mentioned how to stop ads with a VPN based blocker.

Seeing reports that interest died down on a newly released item, be it a game, social media, or tv series, is just to be expected. May as well report that water is still wet.
8·1 year agoI saw in the comments here there are no apps yet for Kbin. So are Kbin users just using the website on their devices for now?
I’m enjoying Connect for Lemmy and awaiting Sync for Lemmy to be released. Can or will those work for me if I made a Kbin account and will I gain these Kbin perks you speak of?

81·1 year agoI’ve had a Galaxy Note 10+ for 3 years and I’ve now had an S23 Ultra since around February. Not once have I had random apps installed.
I’m with Rogers Wireless in Canada.
There are 1 billion active users on Instagram and those users were invited to Threads using an existing account. Celebrities, businesses, streamers, etc. all popped up on Threads within the first few hours of public release.
I’m a big nerd and just learned about the fediverse within recent months. Everyone else I know who uses Twitter and Threads have no clue what Mastodon is.
