Confusion like this got me my current job. They were looking for somebody with experience in “Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager”, and I look that up and I’m like “Oh, that’s SCCM, I do that”. Go through the interview process they keep asking me if I know Endpoint Configuration Manager and I’m like “yeah, for sure”. I get the job. Day one, the other systems engineer is like “here is the link to our Endpoint Manager Tenant”, and I’m like “oh… Shit I have never ever used this”

Well… Ends up Endpoint Configuration Manager and Endpoint Manager are two different things. Fortunately for me they are pretty similar in function and rely on knowledge of Windows and Powershell, which I know.

So my first 2 weeks of work was taking a shitload of courses in Endpoint Manager and watching a lot of videos and learning it inside and out.

2 years later and I’m an Endpoint Manager/Intune pro.

Basically a bunch of big hits that I never got around to. I’m starting with Stray, it’s relaxing and fun. I played a little Dark Souls, but I need to come back to that when I have more time to focus.

I was also looking at Death must Die. I played the shit out of Vampire Survivors, and I’ve heard DMD is more of the same.

Last big StamDeck game for me was Hades 2. Loved the original and 2 was just as fun. I know it’s not fully complete, but I unlocked everything available and upgraded most of the gear all the way. I can’t wait for the full release.

In my teenage years and early 20s I pirated everything because I was broke. I could squirrel away enough money to build a low grade gaming computer and the benefit to me was “I don’t have to pay for games because I can pirate them”. That or I survived on Demo CDs that came with magazines I got at the book store (and later on I think it was demoplanet.com?). If it wasn’t for these resources, I probably never would have gotten into PC gaming.

Now that I have expendable income, I buy games that I want to play.

I would never have been a customer if I wasn’t originally a pirate. It’s the circle of life.

Also I just went and bought this game because I have money to support shit like this and I’m all about supporting developers who understand.

I don’t understand why anything anti capitalism these days is automatically communism. It’s such a large swing from one side to the other. I just want my taxes to pay for healthcare, infrastructure, and education instead of wars and prisons. I want to stop getting fucked by corporations that have infinitely more money than I can ever imagine. I don’t think that makes me a communist. I’m just anti-fucking-the-people. Capitalism can fuck people. Communism can fuck people too. I support Corpo-Politico-Celibacism. Stop the fucking.

Ugh. That reminds me of a time probably around 2012. I was working for a pretty large company, and they had our health insurance provider come in. The insurance provider was offering $100 to any employees that came in and gave a sample of blood. This was not a blood drive, they wanted samples. There was a line going down the hallway of people excited to get a benjamin. I encouraged them to get off the line because they were just going to use the data from the blood tests to raise our rates. Everybody laughed at me.

Couple months later all of our insurance rates got jacked up. Like how did people not see what was going on? Did they really think the insurance company was there to give away free money and not somehow turn a profit? Fucking bananas.

I plucked these in my brother in laws backyard yesterday, and this post is now giving me doubts…

I use a Fossil Hybrid Smartwatch and I love it. It looks and functions like a mechanical watch but it has smart features. It won’t show your messages, but you can set contacts to numbers so you k ow if it vibrates weather or not it’s worth checking your phone. For example, I have my wife set to #1 in the app, so when she calls or texts, my watch vibrates, and the both the minute and second hand point to 1 on the face (and go back to telling time shortly after). There are 3 programmable buttons, one of which I set to ring my phone when I can’t find it, another I set to take a picture with my phone (works great for group photos when you setup your phone on the other side of the room), and the 3rd one points the hands to tell me that date. It has a pedometer with a goal meter that fills up through the day, and the one feature I probably live the most is that it uses a normal watch battery that needs to be replaced like once every 9 months or so. So no worrying about recharging etc. And this is all on an old version of the watch. There are newer ones with more features. It’s the smartest dumb watch you can get. I love it.

I don’t do electrical work. I’m usually taking the outlet covers off for painting walls. And I like to paint with the lights on.

Yup, I’ve noticed that spanner screws (the two dots) are usually found on elevator control panels. There is no reason that somebody should be able to open those up with a Swiss army knife.
