I feel this. I’ve been dreaming of running my own internet radio station ever since SHOUTcast first came out. Well it only took 25 years but I finally made it happen, yet I’m too scared to promote it cause I’m afraid that no one will want to join on as a DJ or even tune in. So here I sit, paying for the server space every month for nothing, lying to myself that this’ll finally be the day that I release it to the public…

So, strictly speaking: yes, almost any computer that was ever capable of running Linux should still be capable of running the newest kernel version, with the sole exception of 386s.

So the 286 and 8086 are still compatible, then? :P

What about chips from other ancient architectures? Can I run the latest version of Linux on a 6502?

I mean sometimes you just want to sit in front of the tube and veg out on whatever’s on. Can’t do that with streaming services unless you set up a playlist, and that defeats the point. I miss having that ability so I will be checking this out.

Looked it up and that a damn good TV. Never get rid of it.

Couldn’t find the HDMI version number but it’s probably 1.2, which is new enough that it shouldn’t cause any issues, even with something modern like a PS5.

Which version of HDMI, though? (You can find out if you search for the model number.) It can cause issues with newer stuff if it’s an old enough version.

And shit like this is why I don’t like MMOs. The game should be ending once I’ve played long enough to max my character. Like you said, the journey is the point of RPGs IMO.
