Nope, it’s illegal in the US. File a complaint with the FTC and they’ll look into it.

11·2 years agoSo being recommended videos is bad now? Dam
I’ve found it great for tracking down specific things in libraries and databases I’m not terribly familiar with when I don’t know the exact term for them

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Just because it’s better than windows doesn’t make it good
13·2 years agoIt’s more user friendly in a thousand minor ways, such as installing programs, which makes it much more user friendly overall. At least MacOS has a consistent UI that doesn’t massively change every single update

810·2 years agoGotta disagree, the gestures are actually amazing. Only pain point is gaming, but I don’t really do that, and the dev experience is pretty good compared to windows too. Installing programs is as easy as it should be on windows. Fuck msi installers
That’s kinda the point

12·2 years agoOh man, the absolute horror of being told about new features! The absolute abject tragedy!
It was probably shown to you in a banner that looked like an ad that you closed out /s

93·2 years agoI mean, I like being told about new features rather than needing to discover them myself twenty months after they came into existence
Not exactly, since the IRS provides tons of credits and deductions for things that aren’t inherently trackable, like credits for upgrading your home to be more “green,” asset depreciation, or any other of the thousand random things they incentivize

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Exciting news! The free API you were using is no more free!English
111·2 years agoYeah but the basic “give me my subtitles for this specific movie” very likely still works just fine, because… that’s like the whole reason they exist

My balanced sources say Biden has so far been significantly better than Trump ever was
I’ve been seeing it more regardless of group size. I went to a restauraunt alone and they had the audacity to charge a service fee and ask for a fucking tip
I wouldve tipped more than the service charge! So I gave nothing instead

I’d say luck will sometimes make you rich, and being good at what you do will sometimes make you rich. Being good at what you do and also lucky has more of a chance of making you rich
It’s *usually not entirely luck, you generally have to sort of know what you’re doing
