To add to this comment. You should look out for the ThinkPad T series (no p or s after the number) if you want ease of repairs and upgrade.
Probably will wait until a tear down video is available. Pebbles are nice devices but absolutely garbage at fixability.
You gotta enjoy it for less than… Check calendar… 7 months at least
The fee is just to “challenge” the gym master for your badge. You still have to pay the subscription to even get into the door.
The earth nation exists with a whole theme about being the great stagnant central state empire getting overshadowed by an upstart nation going through industrial revolution first doesn’t give you any hints? Not even the queues and qibao?

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Signal Finally Rolls Out Usernames, So You Can Keep Your Phone Number Private
26·2 years agoYou still need to put in your phone number to use their increasingly limited service though. Either go full bare sms/RMS integration or go full anonymous username only. This half ass approach please no one.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Lawsuit alleges SpaceX underpays women and minorities
102·2 years agoCause the US government is just a bunch of corporations under a trench coach. They want to privatize space using public money just like everything else on Earth. If it’s not space X then it’s gonna be Boeing, Ratheon, Amazon, etc that take that position. The age of public space exploration is closing, be ready for enshittification and exploitation in space.
that’s just console first UI design school Bethesda have subscribed to since Skyrim.
I have been in these kind of conversation a lot with my friends who work in tech. Even in tech circles, people wills till fall back to ‘unsafe’ solutions due to convenient an network effect. It sucks that we don’t have a universal protocal for instant messaging that work for all platforms and is secured (f**k Apple for that). At this point I agree that it’s just easier to just move on and use a normie chat app with burner accounts (which is increasingly harder to make nowadays)

Gaming@lemmy.ml•Your favourite depictions of communism in video games
181·2 years agoWhile the game is pretty fun and the banality is the point, I feel like it doesn’t have a lot of things to say about communism itself. You can swap it out for any failing country and it would just work the same.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I know Lemmy is about to take off because the porn is quickly moving from drawn henti and furry images to gonewild onlyfan contributors. I call it the QOTP Index (Quality Of The Porn). Reddit is done.
51·2 years agoI miss r/wholesomehentai and r/hentaisource. There were a lot of chill and helpful people there. Been waiting for a anime/hentai instance to pop up in the fediverse

Yeah, there’s a lot of niche software for specific needs that’s doesn’t have alternative or have subpar alternatives on Linux. Even as a full-time Linux users and supporter, I still have to acknowledge that the amount of investments gone into enterprise stuff over the year have basically made switching from Windows for a lot of professions almost impossible. Unless we start having more funding and development from state actors, the market share of OS won’t change significantly anytime soon.
