61·4 months agoMy car has climate control. I set it to 72 degrees once a long time ago and rarely have touched it since.
The fascination with dumb controls in a car is odd to me. It seems like people overshoot the “I want physical controls I can feel my way around without looking” and get into “give me the Flintstones car” lately.

10·7 months agoWell, one is racing, but the other is wearing a stained wife beater, resting their hand on a Busch Light in a 70s folding lawn chair, watching the other one sprint with scorn.
If you want to spend all day watching it. I set the Traeger and forget it until I get a notification that the food is at temperature.

This game blew my mind when Golly asked me to select a file on my computer to sacrifice. Such a cool breaking of the 4th wall.
I don’t doubt there’s a difference, I just don’t think it’s noticeable.
I was thinking of CAD when I wrote this, but all of those graphical design tools are good ammunition for this argument. It’s hard to make those types of software without paying people. With the advent of AI that can write code, we’ll probably see open source software make tons of headway.
