Debian! As far as hardware you’d probably have an easier time with an AMD GPU but otherwise most everything works. Get intel wifi if you can/want wifi.
not really unless you’re trying something relatively unique like nixos or void etc. you can do most things on any distro

If I could easily do this on my desktop/laptop I legitimately might stop pirating media. I would also stop if the streaming companies just let me watch full quality and didn’t take away what I purchased because the rights holder decided they want you to buy it again on another platform.

Oh my fucking god this is a huge pain point for me. I couldn’t find a solution so I resorted to importing the cookie from my laptop but looks like smarter people than me have figured it out.
I mean, if they’re going to continue maintaining it and adding features I think they’re entitled to price it how they want. Buy it or don’t. Other apps will come and prices will probably fluctuate accordingly once more come out and there are more users actually buying the app.
Also, Lemmy does not work exactly like Reddit under the hood. I’m sure a lot of work went into reworking it for Lemmy.
