No, people just don’t want to learn anything. They want everything to stay the same and never make compromises. No there is never a drop in one to one replacement for Discord or Windows or whatever else.
Yeah but it also looks like it lacks federation and support for third party clients
What does it do above matrix?
Fedora Workstation
Afaik they dont do completely custom firmware but just mods
I dont think any smart TV’s even allow you to unlock the bootloader, even if you did somehow find a way to unlock it there arent any custom roms for smart tvs. Apparently some smart tvs have unofficial bootloader unlocks through exploits but unless you want to fiddle with a GSI its useless.
Also probrally still uses an absolutely proprietary CPU with an absolutely proprietary BIOS/Firmware
Keep in mind Linux had this opportunity during netbooks, Microsoft simply forced them to abandon Linux and threatened contracts. Yes, many computers shipped Linux and in what I can only describe as a blatantly illegal move (and cornering of the market) Microsoft forced them to use Windows. If OEMs like Dell or HP start selling as many Linux PCs as Windows PCs Microsoft can just threaten contracts.
Most people dont use Windows because its compatible with more software, they use it because thats what their computer came with. If computers just starting shipping Linux then software will come.
That too, as well as in professional and government settings.
Marketing and market availability are the biggest problems. People need to be able to go into any store, buy a handheld/laptop/desktop and have it include Linux without them asking.
Windows Gamers (who will never switch to Linux): Linux still isn’t ready for mass adoption
How about you sudo apt install deodorant and maybe a life :3
Yes but thats sorta the point, WSL users like you are Windows users. Not really Linux users, you run a glorified VM. It makes perfect sense for devs to get annoyed when WSL users complain about WSL bugs to package or distro maintainers. Theres nothing wrong with that obviously but its still misleading whenever a WSL user calls themselves a Linux user (not to say that applies to you)
Real™ Linux users stare at their desktop until they reboot into Windows so they can acturally run software :3
That seems like its not stable and the software is likely to either be undermaintained or unmaintained
Let me clearify, you cant run full desktop environments on it. You cant even run a window manager like Sway on it.
Damn, they look absolutely horrible
