I got me some new devices recently. Researching and adding privacy/security add ons to Firefox was surprisingly enjoyable.

The idea that I have some measure of control over what I experience - and what I give in return - is novel to me.

The -10 or so extensions work well enough. It’s still the internet, but it’s an earlier version. Better than what currently exists.

Next year, they’ll be on that ballot,!

Gotcha, i have plenty of training in LOTO. Was merely commenting about something being locked out, and then the operator having moved on while leaving it locked out. I found it amusing.

The switch is actually operable, just locked out bc we no longer use the gas heaters they control.

But what if we wanted to tag it back in?

At my place of work, we have a switch that has been locked out for over a decade. The dude doesn’t even work there anymore. Perhaps isn’t alive. It isn’t critical, but our LOTO trainings don’t cover that possibility.

I’m not as savvy at tech as many folk in this here platform, but I was knowledgeable in Napster and limewire in my early teens. A dabble of DOS 3.0 when I was in k-5. I thank you for letting me believe that counts for anything at all.

I log in to different computers at work. About half have updated to windows 11. I don’t know why only half. I’m not IT.

I miss XP to this day. The cosmetic features aren’t useful to me because I grew up with alt+tab and such. I can adapt. I bet there are reasons - but for me at work, it’s just a minor inconvenience in creating new “muscle memory”
