People making lesser than $200K (even foreigners) don’t pay tuition at Harvard. Just checked and all other Ivy League schools similarly offer need-based aid except two.
Poplar?@lemmy.worldto Lemmy.World Announcements@lemmy.world•Lemmy needs more donationsEnglish356·5 months agoI am sure I would be absolutely abhorred by the depth of depravity of your average silicon valley CEO’s hot takes
That’s a really good point.
Also, the Lemmy devs might have authoritarian views but work off of donations while the silicon valley CEOs are some hyper-capitalists with power. The lesser evil seems clear to me.

I guess we’re likely to see a fair number of comments trying to award silver.
Can we have a “!repeatAward” or similar command? Reply to a “!lemmySilver” comment with it and you can award for the same comment or post. IMO that would reduce clutter because you can then just collapse the first award command and get on with reading actual comments. Maybe even delete all “!lemmySilver” commands after the first one, and DM people letting them know they should use the “!repeatAward” command.

Here come the gaslighters 🤦♂️
They have that under all their comments.
Another day of learning about Linux from the comments under a meme.
Stereotypes only exist because they have some basis in fact.
No, a good portion of stereotypes are just completely made up. Tiring hearing this justification.

I have an instagram account to better fit in and none of my friends ever really post. Its mostly for messaging, sharing stuff we find, looking at stuff.
Rarely anyone seems to share every bit of what they do, if at all.

literally this
Author-activist Cory Doctorow does a daily thread on Mastodon (on stuff like tech policy) but because each post doesn’t have much text the threads get long. He also posts it on his blog, but I think Brewchin finds the thread annoying. His account: https://mamot.fr/@pluralistic

Couldnt you just copy the list of instances lemmy.world or a similarly large instance federates with (its in the footer), or grab a the list of Lemmy instances from e.g fedidb.org to block?
I feel that would block most of the network, and doubt there would be much value left in joining whatever unconnected instances left.
This. People who arent from the corning community might cook until just past the pop-threshold and then test themsleves without a rigorous method… If you cant prove stuff like statistical significance its not chewing technique it could just be chance.
