Yeah like frig China. Why aren’t you killing them? Whats wrong with you? Clearly the most morally correct thing to do is exterminate them, what are you trying to hide?

Yes, and this time you are part of the management, and so is almost everyone. Instead of management being a few rich arseholes.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•I'm very bad at convincing people to care about their privacy
2·9 months agoYou could start invading their privacy if convincing them with words doesn’t work.
Why bother shutting the bathroom door? You’re not doing anything wrong.
Post family drama on Facebook, whats the problem with that? Everyone has drama?
Really there is a deeper conversation about power and manipulation through marketing/propaganda. But thats an ever harder topic.
We could always introduce a purge. Maybe every 5-10 years (random) the 10 wealthiest individuals must fight to the death. Win or lose they lose all their money and have to start over. Its like the Olympics. And they can use their money to equip themselves, with tech and weapons.
Its like the Olympics
But yeah capitalism is no bueno
I mean isn’t this more "circle jerking " about dismantling state propaganda? Interacting with those you were told are your enemy?
Besides, people should always celebrate the positives, and look towards them as something that is possible in their country too.
And as an fyi: when we were here before, the workers revolution in Russia was new. The achievements were so profound that workers in North America began demanding similar concessions from our governments. There was a real threat of overthrowing the existing power structures. And what happened? Weekends, literacy, healthcare, just generally improved living conditions. To dismiss cultural exchange as circle jerking is to ignore history and the power that comes with knowing things are better elsewhere, and that you can have that too.
Especially when your own government is doing a fine job destabilizing society already.
That would be interesting. I don’t believe the data exists. Just need a definition of bully, a list of kids who are bullies (which would be difficult given they are children and that has ethical issues), and a follow up to see if they went to cop school, became cops, career length, etc.
The stats would be easy to do.
I imagine asking a cop would be a bad idea (might go to jail for example), but maybe their former teachers or classmates could work? I’m just yapping at this point lol
Lol I have so many conversations like this. Someone was saying a bunch of people got laid off at their job during covid and they almost lost their house. I said something like “it’s a shame that they didn’t just temporarily decrease everyone’s hours so you all still had work. I mean, the work was going to come back eventually”.
And they of course agreed
I mean, private ownership by those who don’t do the work or consume the product, yet get to make the decisions is to blame, yes. And that is capitalism by definition so… Capitalism is to blame…

Linux@lemmy.ml•AMD Ryzen 5 9600X & Ryzen 7 9700X Offer Excellent Linux Performance
3·2 years agoYeah maybe, they do have the fastest gaming processors, and most efficient workstation processors if you use the x3d for workstations.
I hope not. I’ll likely be buying a bit of an upgrade in the next 6 months…

4·2 years agoI was thinking this too. However, Amd still has a much lower market share than Intel so I suspect they will use this to claw back as much as they can. If they manage to get into the 40-60% range, then I would expect them to start playing with raising prices.
Alternatively they may release certain models at inflated prices to test the waters with increased pricing.
This is an armchair analysis of course so take it with a grain of salt
Yeah, and it’s fully legal for them to take any money you have and claim it’s related to drug money (even if you’re a citizen). You can always get it back if you fight for it but…
Don’t bring things with you that you don’t want taken from you (unless you have to).

Memes@lemmy.ml•for all the "anti-authoritarians" out there
121·2 years agoI like how the reactionary communities post shit that isn’t thought out. Then you got a couple of… Left communities where they post thought out essays. Too long to read but probably mostly true
I for one think we should continue with the way things are. Obviously the people who own companies like Tesla and Amazon are better than us. We should be happy to have a job tbh. Seriously, why would I want to be burdened with decisions like whether or not I get healthcare, or whether or not food and education is accessible. We are better off letting the market decide. If education was so important, wouldn’t the market find a way to make money off of it?
In terms of ROI this is genius
Good parents teaching their kids what happens when you tell the truth to authority.

61·2 years agoBuddy here doesn’t understand that you can support democracy for the workers without simping for some socialist project. Nor can he comprehend that criticism of political economies leads to a better understanding of things .
The liberal mindset of us vs them, as if there are two teams. Though to be fair this is partially true. It is us, the workers of the world, versus them, those who own and control the world. Solidarity among us who must work to survive is the only way to liberate ourselves from those who seek only power and profit.
Criticise every project, and your own beliefs. Learn from the mistakes you and others have made. And act with compassion.
Or regurgitate western propaganda what do I know.

71·2 years agoAbsolutely right! I cannot believe that the US government tried a colour revolution against the Chinese people. We can’t tolerate a foreign people defending themselves against aggressors, but we can tolerate aggression as long as it comes from the west? Hypocrisy

Technology@lemmy.ml•Google Tries to Pay Off the Antitrust Division & said juries (normal people) cannot decide hard cases.
1·2 years agoYes, we should let the unbiased and just judicial system remove any potential check on it’s power through the exclusion of a jury. Surely then things will be better. In fact I can’t think of a single situation where allowing a judge and some lawyers to interpret the nuances of law led to anything terrible.
Nope, it’s the stupid idiots who don’t know anything about… What ever I want to make up right now
The wonderful thing about your comment is how blatantly it disregards the scale of the “atrocities” committed by the empire
