Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Animal guessing game!!!
16·28 days agoNo I can’t see a horse here, that’s why we’re guessing.
Seriously I’m on Lemmy and nobody’s said “The Princess Dick” yet!?!? You people are getting lazy
Yeah it too hard a problem. Like what about fusion places? I guess if we’re talking about only being able to eat in one region I guess we have to admit NYC is OP with so many different immigrants from around the world you’ll be able to find anything there. I can’t tell if NYC is in H or G but that’s one to pick.
But that takes out all the chalange because all the regions have major cities and therefore all sorts of restaurants. I mean you can get good Chinese food in Buenos Aires I know and most other regional cuisines. I mean then New York City is op and everyone else is second place.
Yeah but the real cuisine from Australia is grubs, roo meat and berries.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Recommended mini linux device for streaming to TV
10·2 months agoHonestly I’ve got the kids bedroom tv on a Pi 3 running LibrElec just fine. Kodi isn’t that resource intensive so it works great. But if you’re feeling fancy setting up a db to hold all your info so you can share it on multiple end really is nice. I love being able to stop a movie in the living room because I’m getting tired and pick it up in the bedroom at the exact same spot.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Yes, this is what people did back then
5·4 months agoThe first question is what kind of time loop am I in? Is it a ‘We are all going to die and I need to fix it’ or a ‘I need to grow as a person to get out’ loop. If it’s the first one then I need to figure out when Donald Trump and Jeffery Epstein are both going to be one of his flights to Epstein’s island and find a way to blow up the plane. If it’s the second one I guess do the same thing as that’s got to be good karma.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What's a good HTPC OS and software?English
3·5 months agoOk here’s what I do … but be aware that I’ve had this same set for about 10 years so I’m sure everyone will bag on it but it works. On my main HTPC (the living room 60" screen) I have run Ubuntu as the background OS and auto open Kodi with the Confluence skin. I’ve added a few add on’s for streaming and an add on that spans a Steam instance in Big Picture for my steam games and an add on for Lutris for other games. Lutris takes a bit of fiddling with to get it to run your games (a lot of set up scripts and downloading runners for emulators, but nothing to bad). I added a MCE remote and a IR receiver to move around in Kodi and attached a couple of Xbox Bluetooth controllers for gaming. I boosted my set up by moving my Kodi database on to my server with mySQL so that the librelec’s running in the bedrooms all share the same database but that’s a fancy touch that took a hour or so of set up that you don’t need to do.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Alternatives to Roku/AppleTV for Jellyfin ClientEnglish
2·7 months agoAh yeah. I gave up on jellyfin pretty quickly as I do everything on my local network and jelly isn’t for that I guess.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Alternatives to Roku/AppleTV for Jellyfin ClientEnglish
2·7 months agoI’m kinda of lost with this. I run 3 librelec units on RaspberryPis velcroed to the back of TVs in my house and once I set them up they run easy as. I set them by setting what my network folders are ( I’m a bit of a data hoarder so I’ve got each tv series in their own folders and each movie and their filled in its own folders) and then hitting scan. Is it because of Jellyfin that you’re having problems? I tried setting it up but gave up when I realised I’d have to let it be a server and frankly I don’t trust my in-laws not to fuck up and post all my details on their Facebook to show off their new personalise steaming services.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•I feel this way about cinnamon.
14·1 year agoI came here looking for this and I knew Lemmy would come through for me. Thanks for passing your spark forward.
Sorry Sentient, this isn’t a thing that’s happened but a thing that should. But you do have a chance to give Prodigy a go and for that I’m jelly. It a fun show that really gets the inspirational and aspirational thing about Star Trek.
You know Dal’s gonna get a wicked mural of a Klingon fighting a sahlat on the side of the new shuttles in the next season of Prodigy.
