You say she “has to create” this and that he “apparently needs parenting”. Did you have some additional context that informs that opinion?
Couldn’t there be other reasons, such as she just doesn’t like doing those particular chores?

There is no install needed, you can just edit permissions and make the file executable and then when you open it or click it the app runs.
What won’t be created by default is an application menu to run it from whatever desktop environment you use. You can create those if you wish. You can create a launcher in the menu manually, or you can use a tool called AppImageLauncher to create these for you.
There’s a pretty good explanation here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1311600/add-an-appimage-application-to-the-top-menu-bar
There’s a name I haven’t heard in a while. Sure was a giant leap at the time with the hardware detection, and live CD.
People sleep on the Cuisinart automagical machines a lot, and tbh I prefer the coffee from French Press or Aeropress, but… When it’s zero dark thirty and you aren’t fully awake yet that robot coffee magician is your best friend in the world.
And also an Aeropress, and a cold brew thingy whatever they are called.
Do me - I use the following methods based on current laziness factor:
I currently use EndeavourOS / Arch mainly
Paper and Scissors were unable to attend.
Coffee isn’t even on your list.
Go to your room and think long and hard about what you’ve done.
The difference being that Prince did that change to screw his record label intentionally.
Other differences include the facts that Prince had talent, and that some people liked him.
Trust. I think it has been earned - so far. NCSA Mosaic was my second browser, and while I’ve experimented with all the major browsers and many not-so-major contenders over the interim couple of decades, Firefox has been a constant for me ever since it was first spawned off of Mozilla. I still believe the Firefox team when they say things, and so far that has worked out just fine.

I would have directed you towards Voat, but apparently it shutdown. Sort of makes sense. It billed itself as a version of Reddit without censorship at all, and was created in the wake of Reddit banning a lot of communities like fatpeoplehate, jailbait, etc. It took the somewhat predictable course of becoming hate speech and nothing else. If you want a community that allows unfettered free speech, that is the issue you will have to confront. People create content, those with anything worthwhile aren’t going to contribute to a forum that mixes their content in with trash.
I’m going to continue coming here. My exit from Reddit is a slow slide… I only use old.reddit plus Apollo and RIF clients. When 3rd party clients are gone I will not use the official app, and I do not intend to continue accessing my feed daily. I don’t believe that I’ll delete my account - if that data in context can help someone else in the future, that’s still a good thing.
How did it break config? Is this a dual or multi monitor setup?
There have been issues with multi monitor placement, primary display setting etc that can get pretty fiddly to solve - seen it with different distros over many years of NVIDIA proprietary driver use.
