It’s not a “normal” vpn client. It allows you to create a network in your server using a variety of vpn providers so other containers can use it to connect to the internet. You use tailscale to connect to your server from outside home, but you use gluetun for your containers to connect to the outside world without exposing your real IP.

So yes, tailscale and gluetun are compatible and can live together (I use both on my homeserver)

Okay so… what about using tailscale? You set as exit node your server, which is configured with gluetun to connect to a VPN (or ideally, it’s online through a router that has itself a VPN for all the connections). Then you connect through tailscale to your homeserver and exit the internet through it (which is already under a VPN).

Why don’t you just use Shelter to create a work profile on your phone? The work profile can have a second vpn connection. I do this with my homeserver. The apps that connect to the home server are installed in the work profile so they have permanent access to the homeseraer while the normal profile is on my external vpn.

If the cert only includes a single data, whioh is if the user is or not underage, without any identification other than that, i’m not sure what can you do with it. No name, no data of any kind… just a true/false statement indicating if the user (without a name or any other identification) has reached the legal age.

The first thing I thought when I heard about this facial recognition to verify age was now easy would be to trick the system with a game with photo mode. And for what I just read, it’s really that easy.

The fun thing is that, since they claim to not save the pictures, they can’t prove that you verified with a videogame… Unless they retire the claim, admit that they save the pictures and get in huge trouble with the data privacy laws.

Sigh… all this trouble to make an age verification system when the state could simply issue digital certs including simply your adult status (meaning you are not underage) that could be used in every website and that would not leak any personal data. And it would really work, as the authority issuing the cert is the state (which already knows your age) it could be automatically trusted on the internet and would keep your data safe.

While I love to see new launchers coming to deck and linux, I’ll have to pass on this one. I don’t see any reason to use it over heroic, and much less considering there is a sub to pay.

I could have considered it if it was a one payment solution, but I really don’t want to add another sub to another service to my life.
