I saw that. That’s honestly stupid, imo. I mean, they can still track you and force feed you ads. Sure you can have an adblocker but that’s the same for mobile.
Idk why they’d do that, tbh.

Idk. I enjoyed it when it’s done well. I subbed to subs like r/redditsings because of it.
Oof… then it might not be the browser. Maybe an extension?
I’m really interested in running my personal instance. Can you point me to a tutorial on how to go about that?
This is why I’m hoping people stay even after the blackout. Lemmy has potential but a big part of it is the community. I already like it here and I’ve seen it grow despite being here for only a week. It’s honestly amazing to watch.
Hope it works!
I mean, reddit’s CEO used to mod that sub. Reddit and redditors were still fine after it blew up. Why are there different standards? The sub may have been banned already, but I doubt spez has changed much. Reddit admins have gotten away with a lot like editing comments, refusing to ban certain subs until there was media coverage, etc. Personally, I haven’t encountered any censorship due to political affiliations (yet). And if it happes, I’ll change instances.
They don’t control the fediverse just as much as they can’t control which instance I join/create.
Have you tried a chromium browser? I haven’t tried browsing lemmy on FF yet, but I never had that issue on chromium (Brave).
Yes. Definitely. I don’t mind the sub but don’t surprise with that crap on r/all.
That’s… pretty accurate, ngl. Lol. I’ve played POE, GD, LE, D2R and that’s 0retty much how it is. The campaign is basically a huge tutorial.
Still, it’s fun for me to try new builds. And the feeling when you get a good legendary/unique that’s perfect for you character is pretty nice. But yes, it can get tiring. I’m taking a break from arpg’s rn.
I won’t be able to check this out. Would it be too much to ask someone to share if there’s any updates/info about Ghost Recon games? Thank you!
This is exactly why both Skyrim and Witcher 3 didn’t appeal to me. Idk, maybe I just like guns in games or the medieval era isn’t my cup of tea.
Diablo 4
Me: what? Who doesn’t like Diablo? I love the grind, the builds, classes, etc. What’s this dude getting at?
Because Blizzard
Me: ooohhh yeah. That’s more than enough reason.
Same. It’s not about the app anymore. It’s about reddit itself.
I didn’t see those. My bad!
Privacy is non-existent on reddit anyway, just because lemmy is imperfect there doesn’t mean it’s any worse than reddit, and this is a public forum, there’s no privacy anyway.
Completely agree. Just look at reddit’s TOS. They own your data. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t stop people from raising it as if reddit is a bastion of privacy and security.
I’ve also seen concerns about privacy and politics. It’d be great if you addressed that, too. I’d love to send you an upvote but I deleted all my accounts. 😅
I just don’t understand why they (or just spez?) are/is intent on badmouthing the Apollo dev.
An app would be very helpful to get more people on kbin.
I completely agree. Reddit has shown no indication of backing down. They will just wait for it to finish if the lockdown is as short as ~48 hours. If a major/big sub goes on lockdown indefinitely, they’ll open it and replace the mods. I’m pretty sure there are tons of people out there willing to mod a big subreddit like r/videos for one reason or another. The reddit of the digg migration era is gone. It’s just corporate reddit now.
We should move. Even if we did a longer blackout, the admins can just replace the mods of the bigger subs and ignore the smaller ones. Even if the blackout is effective, they will pull something like this again.
I’ve lost trust in them. I’m not going back except maybe for information if I really need to.
