







Dark confession: I grew up around a lot of New Yorkers and don’t mind his personality/speech at all. If he was still on The Apprentice I’d find his blathering entertaining.
He could have been a nice interesting person. If he had wanted to be. Even Hitler could have been a painter instead.
The government says we had 2.7% inflation last year. Your expenses only went up by 2.7% last year, right? That sounds honest.
Every employer who says “sorry, market conditions” is really saying “change market conditions by unionizing”.

Racism isn’t just when a person thinks their race has superior ability. It’s also when we design systems that statistically harm brown people. In my country a lot of racism is thinly veiled as dealing with illegal immigrants. We used to require that you know how to read in order to vote.
Then I wouldn’t need as much buffer time in the first place. The sitting and waiting is because I didn’t know how long the delays would be.
I’m a big fan of saying excuse me and apologizing profusely with nice cheap words while smashing right through other inconsiderate people. Whoops sorry!
Could traffic cones help or do the passers-by just kick them?
It’s a little easier to see it that way as a survivor, especially if you didn’t lose anyone close to you.

I hid it initially, and then gradually let the mask slip while demonstrating my amazing engineer powers over the first year. An engineer with ADHD is like a pole dancer with one leg - at first one might think it’s a bad career choice, but you just watch me dance for a minute and then it’ll make sense.
If the interview process is inherently ableist, then I’d have nothing to lose by disclosing it immediately. Especially since HR generally doesn’t make the actual hiring decision.


I’m an engineer with ADHD. If an interview tried to get me to use software that requires I not look away, they will be informed that the ADA requires they provide me with reasonable accommodation.
(My current employer does, and they get the high quality of work they deserve.)
